Well my hard working husband left for Chicago today, and I can't help but think back to last year when he went and how life is so different now. In a good way. Sometimes it's so hard to see improvements because I'm not walking again, and that is really what I focus on, but I certainly have improved.
I couldn't get Anthony in/out of the car last December, which left me home for two weeks unless one of my nice family members came to take me on an outing. AH! Thank God that Anthony and I can get out and do things now - most days we have a pretty fun schedule filled with play dates or Bible study or errands or some other activity to keep us busy! Being able to get him in and out of the car has been such a wonderful thing!!
The list goes on and on - cooking, exercising, playing with A, etc....I feel so much more confident now that I can actually do everything that needs to be done around here. Physically I am much more capable of keeping up with Anthony and just more confident in my abilities. (Going to Pushing Boundaries really changed my wheelchair life - more on that later...). It's crazy to think that now I really feel like nothing is off limits to me. And of course there are a few things that are, but everything that I want to do, I'm able to do. Well except go for a run, but any day now that will change....;)
Life is basically "normal" now. I'm right where I expected to be at this time, just didn't expect to be in a wheelchair.
I am kind of bummed that I don't get to go with J on this trip; I'd originally planned to, and it would have been loads of fun. But all of the horror stories on the news have me scared, and I am certainly not going to pull my pants down to go through security (as one person in a wheelchair had to do) so I'm holding off on the flying for now, hoping that things will get a little better soon.
We are of course going to miss Jared! Anthony has already asked for him at least five times and it's only been a couple of hours. But until he gets home I will be happily enjoying lots of time playing with my little man, and I'll also be squeezing in naps as often as I can, because his energy wears me out...;)

Words to live by
Well about two weeks into the year I've finally finished writing out my goals and vision for 2011....maybe next year I'll do a better job of starting early! I like having a written vision for my year as it gives me a standard to hold myself to, and allows me to have a clear picture of what does and doesn't fit into my life.
My "slogan" for myself for this year is Walking Again in 2011. It would be better if it rhymed I suppose, but not much rhymes with 11. I truly believe this is the year I'll start walking and that I'll see many changes and I'm looking forward to it! Standing on Romans 4:17 and calling those things that are not as though they were, with a word making something out of nothing. This new year holds so many exciting things for our family, and I pray it does for yours as well.

Our Little Sleeper
Jared's last day off (after 12 days!) is today and back to work he goes in the morning. We have been so busy the last couple of weeks and have had such a great time hanging out as a family, too bad he can't retire now!
Anthony woke up today at 11:15 and we were sure he wouldn't take a nap since he basically slept the day away. But he asked for a nap later in the afternoon and ended up sleeping for 1.5 hours. This kid must have been so worn out from all of the craziness! I'm so glad his body seems to know he needs sleep when he is cranky and tired!
